Volunteer Opportunities

Gutenberg has a compliance officer that oversees the creation of periodic reports to various government oversight bodies. An assistant to gather and organize compliance data would be helpful.

There are a number of lectures and articles that Gutenberg has in various archives. We could use someone to help Robby Julian curate those archives and make them available in the best possible way. This might be via YouTube or on our website as an audio recording or paper.

Gutenberg maintains a database of information to help us care for our friends, donors, and prospective students. We could use someone who is familiar with CRM databases to help maintain current data in our database.

Gutenberg hosts an annual Education Conference in the summer of every year. There are a number of different areas of planning that are required to offer the conference that we could use some help with. 

A number of projects come up with varying skill requirements. It would be great to have people that we could call on for various projects. 

Gutenberg could use a person with finance experience and acumen to assist our financial oversight and processes.

Gutenberg would like to design and build a sign for the front corner of the property. Someone who could coordinate and help with that project would be very helpful.

Gutenberg often has need of an experienced graphic designer who can help us create high quality, professional, and mission appropriate graphics for events and advertising.

Every quarter, the residents at Gutenberg spend Saturday morning cleaning, fixing, updating, and repairing the house. Extra hands are always welcome.

The grounds at Gutenberg are maintained by student help. But we could use someone with an eye to grounds keeping to help make the grounds professional and beautiful.

Gutenberg is always looking to expand our network of friends and colleagues. A person who has the skills and inclination to introduce Gutenberg in various contexts could be very helpful.

We have lots of exterior windows that need painting.

Gutenberg puts on a number of outstanding events. Getting the word out and helping with logistics of these events could really improve these events to have an improved impact on a larger number of people.

We have a social media coordinator, but we could use some people who could assist that coordinator by boosting our posts and helping us share on social media.

Gutenberg occasionally needs some software development. We are looking to update our online application process and create a database for the course text book ordering

Some students occasionally would like to have an adult friend or mentor to interact with. Especially if the two share a special interest.

Organizing, training, and keeping track of volunteer help can be very time consuming. A person who has organizational capabilities would be well suited to that role.
